Juvenile Threatens to Shoot up School

Students Permitted to Stay Home

ERIE, Pa. -     After a threat is posted to social media, Erie High School and Cathedral Preparatory School officials are giving parents the option to keep their kids at home today.

A student reportedly posted a picture of himself holding a gun. That picture reads "ready to shoot up school tomorrow." Erie School District officials confirm the student is currently a student at Erie High School. He will not be in school today.

As a result, Erie High School administrators informed parents via "one call" and social media.

Additionally, Cathedral Prep's Father Scott Jabo sent a message to parents indicating that students are permitted to stay at home for the day.

School officials indicated this morning that the student has been questioned by police and the faculties are taking every precaution to keep students safe, including having police presence at both Erie High School and Cathedral Prep School today.
