Tom Wolf reaches out to employers about flu bug prevention

Local News

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s Administration has a message for employers this cold and flu season:  Make sure workers are fighting the flu bug.

The flu season will soon be in high gear once again and the State Department of Health is telling employers they can do a lot to prevent it.  The department suggests reminding employees to get a flu shot and if possible, help to underwrite some of the costs.  Employers can also remind workers to cough into their sleeve or a tissue and to wash their hands often.  And, there’s one more thing:  allow sick workers to stay home.

Dr. Rachel Levine, PA Secretary of Health, says, “It’s also really important for anybody who has the flu to stay home. This not only helps that person in terms of their recovery but also prevents spreading it to everybody else”.
