Today, we meet a local girl with a rare disease, fighting to get her life back.
18-year-old Kylie Allen-Kulyk spending her childhood coping with pain most of us can’t imagine. It’s a serious illness and it took about eight years for several doctors to pinpoint a diagnosis. It turns out she has Stiff Person Syndrome, and the odds of that diagnosis are about one in a million.
Kylie explains, “…my body distorts; it’s unbelievable. It’s actually… it’s strong enough to break bones; it can tear ligaments…”
Kylie’s Mom, Jill, tells us she feels “helpless, you feel helpless. You want to take it away; you would in a heartbeat”.
Kylie will be featured in our special report tonight on JET 24 at 6pm. We’ll hear from her family and her doctors, and even the complete strangers compelled to help her in her times of need. This is a story you don’t want to miss…
