Toomey holds off McGinty in U.S. Senate race

Another closely watched race in Pennsylvania was the race for the U.S. Senate seat between incumbent Republican Pat Toomey and Democratic challenger Katie McGinty.

Toomey will get a second term in office after a very close race on Tuesday.

Toomey receive 49 percent of the vote, just 2 percent more than McGinty.

Toomey gave his acceptance speech around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, with McGinty conceding shortly after.

“A few minutes ago from Katie McGinty offering her congratulations, and I want to return the favor and congratulate Katie McGinty on running a very spirited campaign,” Toomey said.
