Traffic stop turned police chase in Jamestown leads to capture of fugitive

Local News

A routine traffic stop puts a fugitive behind bars.

Around 1:30 this morning, Jamestown Police pulled over 27-year-old Kyle South for a minor traffic violation.  South stopped briefly and that’s when passenger Brett Kinney jumped out of the vehicle and fled.

After that, South pulled away in his Jeep, leading police on a 20-mile chase until the Jeep got stuck.  South was arrested and officers found a stolen .38 caliber rifle under the seat.  Kinney was found with brass knuckles and marijuana.

Both suspects are awaiting arraignment.
