A trial date is set for a man charged with a Valentine’s Day murder.
Torriano Beard, 39, appeared in court for his formal arraignment Wednesday morning and was read all of his charges including criminal homicide for the shooting death of Jamar Phillips.
A judge set a trial date for Oct. 11.
Phillips, 36, was shot and killed near the corner of West 18th and Raspberry streets on Feb. 14.
Police said Phillips had multiple gunshot wounds to his body and were able to identify Beard by nearby surveillance cameras.
