A truck into a building was a startling wake up call for one local businessman.
Mark Alexa is the executive director of Community Shelter Services at the corner of W 9th and Sassafras Streets.
He says around 7:30 Saturday morning he got a phone call of a truck into their building.
He says the truck was trying to turn around and the gate was down, so it clipped the side of the building, causing quite a bit of damage.
Alexa says the building houses people on low income, some with disabilities.
Alexa says, “I was afraid that we were going to have to 50 places for people to live until we got this fixed. But nobody has to move and I’m grateful for that. But it’s going to take some time.”
Alexa says the truck involved in the crash is a part of the color run tour.
