First Responders are cleaning up after a tractor-trail rig ran off the roadway on I-79 northbound near the 157 mile post at about 1:30 this afternoon. The truck rolled on to its side, trapping the driver in the cab. The driver was transported to UPMC Hamot for treatment of unknown injuries. The truck was not carrying hazardous materials. Traffic is slowed and reduced to one lane northbound for the afternoon.
The crash caused significant amounts of mud and debris to be thrown onto the highway, necessitating fire crews efforts to clean the highway. Please use caution in the area.
