Twitter, Facebook users react to Tuesday’s election

ERIE, Pa. — Social media is filled with people reacting to Donald Trump as the next president. And the emotions are clearly divided.

Tensions were high on Wednesday, some were thrilled while others were terrified.

It is over and Americans seem to be split with emotion.

“I think it was a fantastic thing after all the decisiveness for 18 months,” Van Hoove said. “We had a pretty clear victor and I think he is going to be a good president.”

Some weren’t so excited about a Trump presidency.

“He scares me,” Douglas Baird said. “How is he going to treat all the other countries?”

Twitter reported 40 million tweets worldwide were sent about the election — and they are still coming in.
