Two families lose home in Cochran Street fire, chief calls it “a total loss”

We are now finding out the devastating blaze that completely destroyed a two-story home in the city of Erie now leaves two families homeless.

Erie Firefighters were called to the 2600 block of Cochran Street Saturday night for a structure fire with initial reports of entrapment. 

Crews were met with smoke and flames upon arrival. 

Fire Chief Guy Santone confirming no one was trapped inside, but telling us, “It is a total loss. I’ll have to go in with the building inspector and see what they want to do with it.”

Investigators will be going in today to try and determine what caused the fire.
