The Union City Library turned 110 years old on Wednesday and locals came out to celebrate.
Community members gathered at the American Legion in Union City to commemorate the library’s legacy. Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper and Union City mayor Brian Stack were in the crowd at Wednesday’s dinner celebration. There were displays set up at the dinner so people got a chance to learn a little bit about the library’s history. “The people of this community really love the library and they use it a lot and we have great resources,” said former Union City Library President Susan Ottaway. “And we’re very fortunate to be an independent library and be able to maintain our independence.”
Union City Library staff says they hope to continue serving the community for many more years to come.
