School Board members in Union City are set to vote tonight on a new teacher’s contract, which could end a stalemate of nearly a year and a half.
The teachers have been working under the old contract since June of 2016. Healthcare co-pays and wages have been the main sticking points. The teachers have worn t-shirts and held rallies over the past months looking for support for a contract that the cash-strapped district can live with.
Because the regular meeting had already been advertised for six o’clock, the special contract vote will take place at the elementary school at 5:55.
