UPDATE:  The appeal was heard today, and will be voted on at the next meeting.

Monday October 9, 2017 – Homeowners from one Erie neighborhood are not happy with their neighbors decision to rent out their homes.

Airbnb, is an online short term rental service. It’s an idea growing across the country.
The service is helpful for travelers visiting other cities for more than a night or two, who dont want to pay hotel prices.
The Glenwood Association has filed an appeal with the Erie Zoning Hearing Board about two Airbnb properties in the neighborhood.
The Association is concerned with homes in the 47 hundred block of Upland Drive.
The Association argues that the zoning in the neighborhood  – single family residential – does not allow for transient occupancy. That appeal will be heard at the board meeting Tuesday at 1:00pm in Erie City Hall.
There are 99 rentals on the Airbnb site when you search for a place in Erie.
