It’s that time of the year again when the US Brig Niagara gets re-assembled for the sailing season.
Some of the work the crew has done so far is up rigging and taking down the winter cover from the ship. A 14-person crew accompanied by trainees is getting the ship ready for the season.
On Saturday, April 13th, there will be a Winter Sail Training Class which has been going on since January. The first program this season will be on May 15th which will be a two-week program heading into June.
Captain Christopher Cusson of the Niagara tells us, “come end of June, we’ll head to our first festival which will be in Toronto, Canada, and we’ll be going through a series of eight festivals in total this season.”
The first sail of the season is set for May 4th.
