Christmas came a few days early for one group of special kids at Saint Vincent Hospital. That’s because Variety’s Holiday Express made a stop in Erie. The children’s charity donates adaptive bikes and other equipment so that kids with special needs can still be outside and active.
The group donated six bikes, four strollers and three communication devices to area families. Four-year-old Lauren Brown’s Mom, Sheryl, says the bike will help her daughter lead a fuller life. “She gets to get out and participate in other activities like other kids do we plan on going to the peninsula and riding around with her there.”
This is the sixth trip to Erie that Variety Charity has made to donate adaptive equipment.
