Dozens of Vietnam Veterans were honored during a pinning ceremony at Saint Johns Parish Hall in Girard.
The veterans were called one by one to be recognized and given a special pin and medallion.
Veteran John Dutkowski said this is almost like a healing ceremony. When he returned back to the states after serving, his welcome back was anything but welcoming.
“I landed wearing my whites and was blessed with Hari Krishnas spitting in my face. I washed my face off and was told when I got out in 1971 not to say I served.”
Tomorrow marks Vietnam Memorial Day, a day Senator Pat Toomey helped sign into law.
