Wabtec/GE deal appears it will go through at around $3 billion

Local News

Some last minute changes are not expected to slow down the deal for the Wabtec Corporation to buy GE’s transportation division, which includes the Lawrence Park Campus.

The two companies have announced that those changes will be sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission in the near future.

The deal creates cash for GE, $2.9 billion, at time of closing plus an agreement for GE to sell down its ownership stake in Wabtec.

The sale is still expected to close by the end of February, with the approval of regulators.
