The unseasonably warm weather brought thousands to Waldameer’s water world this Memorial Day weekend.
It was opening weekend for the water park, and the attendance did not disapoint.
General manager Steve Gorman says the summer-like weather brought in an an usually high number of guests to the water-park for the month of May. Gorman says overall this weekend has already been busier for the park than Memorial Day weekend last year.
“We see a lot of people come up from northeast Ohio and the Pittsburgh area,” Gorman said. “They come up to Lake Erie and then spend maybe a day with us.”
The sub shop is a popular new addition to the park this summer, Gorman says.
The new kidz zone is expected to open at the end of June.
