The Erie Sewer Authority is looking to make improvements to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The Erie Sewer Authority considering a multi-million dollar, 10-year capital improvements plan for the plant. Officials are holding discussions about preliminary work that could include upgrades to water holding tanks and improvements to the treatment system over the course of two phases.
City Council Member Liz Allen tells us, “We need all of that to be clean and be processed as efficiently as possible because the Wastewater Treatment Plant is an asset, but it’s an asset to our best asset, which is probably living on a Great Lake.”
Possible investments for the first five-year phase are projected to exceed $20 million. City officials have not yet finalized any plans nor have they given potential costs.
