Weekend shooting leads to drug arrests

Police are still searching for the man responsible for a weekend shooting.

Police say a 31-year-old man was life flighted to Pittsburgh after being shot twice, once in the face and once in the leg,  around 11 Friday night. It happened near the corner of West 4th and Cascade Streets outside the victim’s apartment.

Police say the man came home from work, let his dogs out and was met by the shooter in the back yard. Both dogs were also shot during the incident. One dog did died on the scene. The other’s condition is unknown.

That shooting led police to two drug arrests. Police say 23-year-old Dion Williams and 22-year-old Devonte Lindsey face multiple drug charges.

Williams faces multiple charges including possession with intent to deliver and possession of paraphernalia.

Lindsey faces charges including carrying a firearm without a license and possession of a controlled substance.

Police were led to the two arrests when they responded to the shooting. Police say Williams lives in the bottom floor apartment of where the shooting took place. Erie Police Chief Bowers wants to stress that the victim of the shooting had nothing to do with the drug activity.

Police are unsure of the shooting victims condition but believe he did not have any life threatening injuries.
