West side shooting under investigation

Erie police are searching for a suspect following an early morning shooting that left one man injured on Friday.

Police found a victim who was shot in the leg in the 800 block of West 18th Street around 3 a.m.

The victim was taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment, but is not cooperating with police.


Police continue to investigate, but said a silver SUV was towed from the scene.

Hours earlier, police responded to a shots fired call in the 400 block of East Fifth Street.

There was no sign of a victim or shell casings.

It is unknown if the two shootings are related.
