LAKEWOOD, N.Y. – Some people believe that manufacturing business is slowly leaving the region, however, one western New York company is not sitting idle.
Cummins Inc. in Lakewood, N.Y., has unveiled some of the newest technology for automotives with new fuel efficient truck engines that will help increase manufacturing business regionally.
Cummins has found the key to success by consistently changing to customers needs, which is now more fuel efficient engines for trucks.
The company unveiled the new X Series Engines that will lower fuel consumption for truck transportation and exceed U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
The new engines are expected to bring in much more business to the plant.
In January, 1,400 new truck engines will be released after testing is completed. The company began producing the new engines this week.
They say they will test drive the engines six million miles before making them available to customers in January.
