What’s “bugging” Erie…

Local News
Something’s been “bugging” a lot of people over the last few weeks.  They look like mosquitos but they’re actually a different insect, called Midges.

They migrate towards moist, warm areas, which is why they typically bother people the most around summer time.  These bugs can’t do much damage, but they are an annoyance.  They don’t bite or sting.  Jim Reese, General Extermination President, tells us, “They’ll land on you. You can breathe them in. They land on the house. They’re in the bushes, but there’s really no detrimental effect.”

Experts say sometimes vacuuming up these bugs may be more effective than using a pesticide.
