Woman arrested following early morning shots fired on 8th and Brandes

28-year-old Kiara Carothers is charged with five counts, including person not to possess a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license. 

Erie Police say Carothers was already on probation when she allegedly shot at a crowd overnight.  It happened around 1:45 this morning near the corner of East 8th and Brandes streets.  Police say officers on patrol heard the gunfire and pulled over the vehicle at East 10th Street and Hess Avenue.  

A Ruger 9mm handgun was recovered from the vehicle and shell casings were found at the scene.  Multiple people were taken to the station for questioning. 

No injuries were reported.
