Kids at the Booker T. Washington Center will now have access to high quality books thanks to the new WQLN reading nook.
The reading nook is a mini-library and it will be filled with PBS books for children of all ages. Community leaders, including Mayor Joe Schember all gathered for the reading nook opening. The education outreach manager at WQLN says they are trying to put the nooks in places that serve under-represented children. “We know that poverty is an issue in out city, as well as the country and we just want to make sure children are getting every opportunity to learn,” said Kathy Woodard, WQLN Education Outreach Manager.
WQLN will be revealing another reading nook at the MLK Center on Thursday at 4 pm.
