A local bakery celebrates the life of a young boy who lost his battle with cancer.
Today, the ‘Ye Ole Sweet Shoppe’ sold Ninja Turtle cookies in honor of 9-year-old Jax Stone. Stone passed away in 2014 due to a form of brain cancer. Ninja Turtles were his favorite cartoon characters.
The owner of the sweet shop, Cheryl Henry, says they picked today to sell the cookies for a special reason. “Today is Jax’s sister’s 18th birthday and they were very close, and we know he’s shining down from Heaven looking upon her, so we wanted to make this a special day for [her] as well.”
The proceeds from the cookies will go to ‘Prayers From Maria,’ a charity Jax’s family chose.
