No one wants to hear the words, ‘you have cancer’. It can be a dark and scary time. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s ‘Light the Night’ walk hopes to bring some light to the darkness through hope, research, and support.
Planning for this year’s walk was put together this morning at the Erie Insurance Firehouse on French Street. According to the chairman of the event, this year’s walk will be bigger and better than previous years with music and fireworks and will kick off from the Erie Insurance Arena.
Patrick Burns, Senior Vice President of Customer Service for Erie Insurance, says, “The hope has never been stronger than it is right now for finding a cure for many types of blood cancers across the wide spectrum, so it’s a great time to be involved. There’s still much work to be done but there’s a lot of hope.”
This year’s Light the Night event will take place on Thursday, September 27th, from the Erie Insurance Arena.
