Younger voters get out to cast their vote

Local News

While older generations are more likely to vote, this election has younger voters heading out to the polls.  First-time voters are taking part in the election process as well.

Some experts say that could be because of the energy behind a few local races, but studies show millennials are taking a more active role in electing new leaders.  Hannah Murkens tells us, “It’s important for the young people’s voices to be heard because we do make a difference and it’s important that the community can hear us speak up and not just the older generations…”

A nationwide study shows millennials casting 34 million votes last November.
