Gov. Tom Wolf released grant money to the Erie County Health Department to protect against the Zika virus.
The state released $12,000 to set mosquito traps throughout the county to test for the virus.
The first two traps were set this week in Fairview Township and Erie.
The traps release an odor to attract mosquitoes to be sent to Harrisburg for testing each week.
The funding is not only for the traps but for education on both Zika and the West Nile virus.
The Health Department is hoping to set two more traps in Erie next week.
