The state-appointed Financial Administrator Charles Zogby to the Erie School District in March.
It was part of the deal after the Department of Education agreed to give the district $14 million more for each year. Zogby is responsible for overseeing the district’s finances and developing a five-year financial improvement plan to submit to the state.
Zogby says apart from managing money, the district must resolve other core issues. “It’s not just about sort of preserving, maintaining the status quo, but how do we make progress academically? How do we make progress in terms of addressing some of the core health and safety facility needs that the district has?”
Starting on JET 24 Action News at five, we’ll hear more about how the district’s plans to tackle these concerns.
