Today, Jay-C O’Bryan McGlumphy was arrested in connection to a shooting from June of 2016.
According to legal documents, on 6/6/16, around 9:30pm, EPD responded to a call for shots fired in the 1000 block of Lincoln Avenue. Upon arrival, Officers observed Isiah Wiley, 18, deceased in the driver’s seat of a white 2003 Cadillac. Erie County Coronor, Lyell Cook, ruled Wiley’s death a homicide due to a gunshot wound.
Police interviewed a witness at the scene and were told he observed a “dark colored vehicle pull up next to the Cadillac and fire several gunshots at the vehicle”. On 6/9/16, EPD recovered a firearm linked to a different incident and lifted a print belonging to McGlumphy. On 3/9/17, EPD received a report on the casings from the bullets fired at Wiley, and found that the gun was also linked to his murder case. On 8/1/17, McGlumphy was interviewed at the Erie Police Department.
A warrant was requested for 19-year-old McGlumphy after the following statement was taken from the suspect:
“McGlumphy stated they continued to look for the white Cadillac and eventually located it near the 1000 block of Lincoln Avenue. Upon observing the vehicle, another individual in the SUV handed McGlumphy a loaded gun and the three other passengers directed him to fire the gun at the white Cadillac. McGlumphy fired the gun “6-7″ times and when the SUV passed the Cadillac, he observed Isiah Wiley slumped over in the driver’s seat. On 6/6/16, the defendant, Jay-C O’Bryan McGlumphy… did not have a valid and lawfully issued license to carry [a] firearm.”
No word yet on McGlumphy’s formal arraignment.
