Erie is again part of an effort to solve Lake Erie’s biggest problems and you can help.
What’s called “Erie Hack” is looking for teams of people to take part in a multi city data and engineering competition. Tonight, they held an informational event at Gannon University recruiting teams. They are looking for innovative solutions that will help preserve and protect the Lake Erie basin.
“It’s really important because this is a way to take the problems we’re seeing that are impacting Lake Erie and actually look at it as a great resource, pull together some solutions and implement them,” said Erie County Sustainability Coordinator Brittany Prischak.
The winning local teams have a chance to advance to semi final and final competitions. The top four teams overall will win $100,000 dollars each to implement their ideas.
