Red Cross steps in to help family after fire erupts in Mercer County

A fire reported in Mercer County on Saturday morning, around 9am, leads to the Red Cross stepping in to help victims.

The fire, on Snake Road, south of Cochranton, broke out and moved through the roof before firefighters arrived.  The Cochranton Fire chief says that the second floor and attic sustained heavy damage.

The family and their pets escaped without injury, but the Red Cross stepped in to help when the family was unable to return to their home due to the damage.
