United Refining Company holds blood drive, employees help impact 10,000 lives

News

You don’t have to be a doctor or a first responder to save lives.

Every day, thousands of people head to work not expecting to be a hero.  But, the truth is; dozens of these employees are heroes daily.

Different businesses and organizations hold blood drives with the Community Blood Bank without the employees having to leave the building. United Refining Company started holding blood drives with the Community Blood Bank in 2001.  In those years, they have donated around 3400 units of blood, impacting the lives of more than 10,000 patients in local hospitals.

Jamie Nelson, Rail Coordinator for United Refining Company, tells us, “We hold blood drives because it’s important to us as a company to give back to the community. We really appreciate the fact Community Blood Bank works directly with local hospitals.”

If you or your company is interested in helping to save local lives, you can always call the Community Blood Bank at 814-456-4206.
