It’s that time of year when a lot of people are itching to get their gardens planted but thanks to Mother Nature you might want to hold off a few more weeks.

Dave Stromenger owns Stro’s Greenhouse in West Springfield. He starts his plants and flowers in February, but they are all in a controlled environment in his greenhouses. Stromenger says a lot of people have already purchased plants but keep them inside, or out of the cold weather.

Rule of thumb for our area is to wait until Memorial Day to plant, that way the chances of a late season frost are minimal.
