Terry Pegula has already hired enough coaches and GMs to establish a pattern.

When there’s a second interview, a hiring usually soon follows.

Adam Schefter from ESPN tweeted early Monday that Panthers assistant GM Brandon Beane is heading back to Buffalo for a second interview to be the Bills’ new general manager.

Beane has been viewed as the favorite for a while and even before Doug Whaley was fired.

Sean McDermott and Beane spent the last six seasons together in Carolina. McDermott was defensive coordinator while Beane was director of pro personnel and the assistant GM as of January 2015.

The Bills did not officially announce Beane’s second interview, but did confirm a first interview for a fourth candidate.

Packers Director of Pro Personnel Brian Gutekunst met with the Pegulas on Monday.

Gutekunst is well respected and was the favorite for a long time to become the new GM in San Francisco. However, he withdrew his name from contention surprisingly in January.

He’s spent most of his professional life in Green Bay. Gutekunst started with the Packers a scout for 13 seasons. He was director of college scouting from 2012-15 and then promoted to director of player personnel in March of 2016.
