The Bills started their free agent spending early Monday night.
Buffalo signed corner Vontae Davis to a one year contract. He was available before the free agent signing period because he was released by the Colts last season, instead of just letting his contract run out.
Davis visited Buffalo first on his free agent tour nearly two weeks ago. He also met with the Browns, Dolphins, 49ers and Raiders before inking a deal with the Bills.
A preseason groin injury hampered his 2017 season. He played just five games before having season ending surgery.
The veteran corner will turn 30 in May. He made the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2015 with four interceptions each season, but fought through injuries in a down 2016 campaign.
The move likely paves the way for free agent E.J. Gaines to end up elsewhere.
