Run and recycle, that’s the mantra of a brother/sister duo on a mission to save the Earth.
Traci Teudhope takes us to Cranesville to meet them. Spotting garbage carelessly thrown on the ground is heartbreaking for Ethan and his sister, Hazel. “I always think there’s a lot of pollution and these will sit here for years and years and never break down and no one will do anything about them.”
So, when they are out running or walking the dog, they stop and pick it up. “I recycle and I compost and I just got mad so I went and picked it up.”
After the first time collecting trash, repurposing some of it, and recycling the rest, these kids decided to keep the momentum going.
Sarah Quezada, Ethan and Hazel’s Mom, says, “…to see them go out and do it on their own, they just get so excited… by them picking up, they’re cutting down on what is out there for the next generation and the generation after that. There will be an impact for the next generation.”
