He’s an all American athlete and a youth coach and mentor for both wrestling and football, but as Traci Teudhope tells us, it’s his character that makes this Cathedral Prep. student our Good Kid of the Week.
Dorian Crosby is a monster on the wrestling mat and the football field. His grandmother, Alicia Grassi, describes him as athletic, soft-spoken, and humble. “He’s really good with his words and his actions. his morals are really good.”
As a two-time state champion and all American, Dorian’s forte is wrestling, but the hits the football field regularly to stay in shape, build his strength, and hone his skills. And, he’s learning a lot on and off the field.
Dorian tells us, “Coach Mitch always tells us to show sportsmanship and act right… I strive to… show I have good character and set an example”.
He also says it’s important for kids to have someone to look up to. “There’s not that many kid role models and I want to set a good example for littler kids.”
This teen is a true leader with a heart of gold. Alicia says, “when he’s out on field or mat; when he hurts someone or thinks he may have, he’s always there to help them up. He looks out for his opponents and his teammates”.
And, this kid has big plans for the future. He tells us, “well, I want to go to college for wrestling and strive to get an NCAA championship and maybe go to the Olympics”.
