It’s a fresh perspective for some senior citizens after a young lady in the community makes a thoughtful donation.
After you meet Kayla Schwabenbauer, you can see clearly why she’s an exceptional young lady.
Kayla’s Mom Tanya Coon says, “Kayla is very creative and she loves to do things for other people”.
Kayla actively looks for ways to give back to others. Take this project for example; Kayla loves working with beads and she thinks Wesbury is a pretty special place. So, she started making these beaded eyeglass chains for the residents. And, ironically, the task challenged her eyes.
10-year-old Kayla tells us, “it was very hard to see and it took a lot of time”.
She made a variety of colors and styles and donated them to Wesbury’s gift shop. They’re now being sold to raise money for the sunset auxiliary.
Kayla tells us, “It makes me feel great inside to be helping residents and families”.
And, her efforts are making quite an impact.
“It makes me very proud of her for being so caring at such a young age,” Tanya says.
