A community is only as strong as its residents, and there’s one local family determined to take care of the place they call home.
Madison and Olivia Erbin are fired up about helping out at their local fire department. They understand the value of volunteerism and they’re happy to help.
Olivia tells us, “we do whatever we can where needed. We wash rigs, really, whatever they need we help with”.
Madison says, “I volunteer my time because I enjoy doing it. Whatever they find for me to do, I do it”.
For the Erbin sisters, volunteering at the firehouse is a family thing.
Kip Hayford of Perry Hi-Way Hose Company says, “Yeah, they’ve been around firehouses since they were born. Their grandfather and uncle were at Kuhl Hose. They started there and then when they moved into the township they started helping us out”.
And, maybe… just maybe, their peers will follow their lead.
Joe Askins, of Auto Express KIA, says, “I mean, they’re both great examples of what this good kid program is all about. They’re certainly doing their part. Hopefully, other kids are taking notice”.
