BayHawks’ Appling Arraigned

BayHawks guard Keith Appling faces multiple weapons charges for allegedly bringing two guns including an assault rifle to a Michigan strip cluib over the weekend. Appling was arraigned Wednesday afternoon on a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon as well as two misdemeanor charges.  One for possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle and the other for possession of marijuana.
Police say they found Appling in the car and after a search – found a handgun under the driver’s seat, suspected marijuana inside the car and a loaded weapon in the trunk.
Appling was then arrested.
His attorneys argue Appling’s constitutional rights were violated and that he’s being targeted.
The judge issued Appling a $500,000 personal bond and set a probable cause hearing for Friday.
Appling spent parts of the last two seasons with the BayHawks.
The team has declined to comment.
