Former Erie Otters captain Connor McDavid is now the youngest player in NHL history to be named a team captain after Edmonton Oilers head coach, Todd McLellan, made the announcement on Wednesday.  At 19 years and 266 days old, McDavid surpasses Gabriel Landeskog who was 20 days older than McDavid when the Colorado Avalanche named him captain in 2012.
