Former Super Bowl champion and East High graduate Cliff Crosby held his 5th annual football camp in Erie over the weekend.
The two-day camp wrapped up on Saturday afternoon at Erie’s Veterans Memorial Stadium as boys and girls ages 8-15 took part in the clinic.
Crosby says, “It means a lot man, it means before I get to this point it’s usually rough, you know, you’re tired, it’s a lot of planning, but then when you get out here man and you amongst the kids, you amongst the coaches, the parents and it becomes the excitement starts all over again
The ex-Rams and Colts defensive back put the kids through a variety of different drills, with an emphasis on change of direction in technique.
Crosby says, “It’s funny, because it’s a football camp, right? But you would think they would get the football part out of it, but what I think they get out of it most is the team building when the Erie County prison correction officers come, they get the obstacle course from the Marines and talk about mental toughness. They get a lot out of it.”
