Gannon Volleyball Seeded 2nd in NCAA Tournament


Gannon Volleyball Earns No. 2-Seed in NCAA Tournament; Will Face No. 7-seed Shippensburg in First Round
ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon Volleyball team earned the No. 2-seed in the 2017 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament, beginning Nov. 30, in Wheeling, W.Va. The Lady Knights will face No. 7-seed Shippensburg in the opening round at Wheeling Jesuit University. The complete bracket can be found here.

The Lady Knights have advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the ninth consecutive season under head coach Matt Darling. Gannon sports a conference-best 28-6 record this season, winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Northwest Division and advancing to the PSAC tournament finals against Pitt-Johnstown.

Wheeling Jesuit received the top seed for the seventh-consecutive season, followed by Gannon, Pitt-Johnstown, Indiana (Pa.) and West Chester. The sixth-seed went to Seton Hill, followed by Shippensburg and Winston-Salem State.

Times for the contests have yet to be announced for the first round of the tournament as of Monday evening (Nov. 20).
