One day removed from being traded to the Erie Otters, forward Danial Singer will be suspended for the first eight games of the OHL season. The league confirming to JET 24 that he failed a drug test late last season during his time with the Niagara IceDogs. The story was first reported by the blog, OHL Insiders.
The Otters say they knew about the failed test and suspension prior to acquiring Singer on Tuesday in exchange for Ivan “Vanya” Lodnia, but made the trade anyway.
Singer had 26 goals and 22 assists for Niagara last season and is entering his third year in the OHL.
