Pirates Trade McCutchen to San Francisco

With one year remaining on his contract, the Pittsburgh Pirates have traded the face of the franchise and a former Most Valuable Player who helped turn the franchise from cellar-dwellar to playoff team.

The Buccos shipped five-time all-star outfielder Andrew McCutchen to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for right-handed pitcher Kyle Crick, outfield prospect Bryan Reynolds and 500-thousand dollars in international signing bonus money.
McCutchen played nine major league seasons and hit .279 with 28 home runs and 88 runs batted in a year ago.
