Harold Castro’s walk-off double gave the SeaWolves their eighth win in nine games Tuesday night over the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
Richmond jumped on top first with a solo homer from C.J. Hinojosa off of Tyler Alexander.
Erie immediately responded with a solo blast from Kody Eaves in the home half of the first to tie the game at 1-1.
Squirrels reliever Vic Black loaded the bases in the fifth and walked in Grayson Greiner to put Erie on top 2-1.
Richmond’s K.C. Hobson smoked a two-run triple to right field in the sixth to give the Squirrels the lead once again at 3-2.
With runners on the corners and no outs in the eighth, Zack Cox hit into a double play that allowed Dominic Ficociello to score from third to knot it up once again at 3-3.
After Bryan Garcia struck out two in the top of the ninth, Erie came to bat with the score still tied in the bottom of the ninth. Wade Hinkle reached on a fielder’s choice, which brought Harold Castro up to the plate. The centerfielder smoked a double on Cody Hall, driving in Hinkle to give Erie the 4-3 win.
Garcia (1-1) earned his first career win in the Eastern League, while Cody Hall (2-2) suffered the loss.
