When the defending state champion Villa Maria soccer team takes the field in the fall . .the Victors will have a new head coach, but they’ll also have to replace the young lady who many consider to be the best soccer player in the state of Pennsylvania.  Villa Maria Academy sophomore star Makena Silber won’t return for her junior year.

Silber’s family is moving to Chicago.   Her dad works for General Electric – and his position was eliminated in November when 1500 workers learned they’d lose their jobs.
Silber has committed to play at the University of Illinois when she finishes high school.
This will be the fifth time her family has moved since she was born.

Silber said, “This is the first place that I really loved.  All the people who have been here.  I was just super sad that’s the only word for it.  I was super upset that I’m going to have to leave and there’s
really no possible miracles to happen even though i was wishing for it for a long time “
