The SeaWolves rallied late on Monday night as they took down the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 4-2, in front of a packed house of 5,652 at Jerry Uht Park.

The Flying Squirrels struck first in the fourth inning against Erie starter Tyler Alexander. Brandon Bednar led off with a double and advanced to third on a Hunter Cole fly out. With two outs, Ryder Jones singled home Bednar for a 1-0 lead.

The Squirrels added to their lead in the fifth. Steve LeRud singled with one out and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. LeRud scored on an error, giving Richmond a 2-0 advantage.

The SeaWolves got to the Richmond bullpen in the bottom of the eighth against Rodolfo Martinez. Mike Gerber and Corey Jones started the inning with back-to-back singles, putting runners on the corners for Connor Harrell. Harrell singled home Gerber, cutting the Richmond lead down to a run. Martinez intentionally walked Grayson Greiner to load the bases for Dominic Ficociello. Ficociello struck out for the first out of the inning. Christin Stewart followed with a sacrifice fly to right, plating Jones, tying the game. With runners on the corners, Greiner stole second for his first career stolen base, giving Erie two runners in scoring position for Harold Castro. Castro ripped a base hit to right, plating both Harrell and Greiner for a 4-2 Erie lead.

Paul Voelker shut down the Squirrels in the top of the ninth to preserve the Erie win, earning his 10th save.

Ruben Alaniz (3-3) earned the win for the SeaWolves. He tossed two scoreless innings, yielding just one hit.
